The months of brainstrorming, planning and preparation leading eventually to the execution of the event taught us many things, the most prominent being taking initiative. In the process of brainstorming, each one of us had to learn to take initiative to suggest ideas and even to research for more ideas to mark the start of our project. ” No man is an island” and we knew that working individually would get us nowhere. Thus, we had to take initiative to assign roles within the group so that our documents could be done on time and efficiently. This would also ensure the smooth running of our event. Like many groups, we took the initiative to plan our event early so that glitches along the way could be solved on time. For example, though we were all afraid to call the organisation we were working with, we knew that we still had to muster our courage and take the initiative to call them since it may be too late by the time they contact us.
